Puppy Mills Are In the News
Reading Lancasteronline.com I came across this. It was a blog posted by a new resident.
"Recently my wife and I moved from Lancaster to Delaware County (for university reasons) and we just wanted to comment on the puppy mill situation in Lancaster County.
My wife worked for the Humane League of Lancaster County for a few years and she (we) are strongly opposed to the manufacturing of dogs for profit. I'm sure many of you saw the Fox29 report on Puppy Love Kennel (along with Joyce "I Kill Puppies for $" Stoltzfus smacking the cameraman's camera from him)...if anyone that reads these boards is interested, you can visit www.stoppuppymills.com (a highly recommended HSUS website).
Also, a meeting was recently had in the Lancaster-area concerning puppy mill legislation and the turn out was decent (about 100 people). Future meetings could benefit from more Lancaster county citizens. I'll post information about the next meeting here when I get it.
So...does anyone share our moral outrage?

Frankly, I don't. I work in the AG industry and are on several farms a week. I personaly have close friends who breed dogs. Their opinion, and mine, is that those who champion this cause know very little about raising anmials and look at them as cuddly pets. "Puppy Mills" as they are describe don't make good business sense anyway as it ruines the quality of the product.
Well anonymous, first your grammar and spelling sucks. This could very well be an indication of your intelligence level! Second, if you and your friend are worried about the quality of "products" coming out of these places, then you would probably have problems with the "bad" puppy businesses (as you call them), making the "good guys" like you and your friend look bad. I don't care what kind of animal you are raising/producing, no living creature deserves to suffer at the hands of humans! Even hunters who actually eat what they kill, try to kill without pain and suffering! Maybe you should question your own morals. A trip to a therapist might not hurt either!!
I think puppy mills should be stopped. I don't care if you work in the AG industry so do I and i don't have a problem with breeding your gogs but i have a problem with when you breed you dog and abuse them and leave them in a cage all the time and starve them. And anyone who does that should be locked up with no food or water. And as for the amish they can go to you no where.
